The journalist and chessplayer Tim Krabbé has written a book called Chess Curiosities. In April 1985, some of his conclusions about several chess records were published in a dutch magazine called New in Chess (it's published in English). In the article, he lists the ten longest games in chess history. Since then, many games can be added to the list. Here are a few with more than 185 moves which were played recently.

7th) Pilnik - Czerniak, Mar del Plata 1950 ( 1/2 - 1/2, in 191 moves);
